What Acupuncture Can Do For You - Benefits of Acupuncture Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine has been the major system of medicine for the majority of the world’s population for over 4000 years. The theories and actions of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine have been developed and proven over thousands of years of research and study by doctors and practitioners. Many people in TV, movies, theater, sports and modeling have regular acupuncture care to help them look and feel their best. Gwyneth Paltrow, Sandra Bullock and Fred Couples are just a few. The side effects are amazingly few and the benefits are numerous…even fantastic for many who have incorporated it into their healthcare.
As is the Universe, every part of your body is interconnected. What happens to one part of your body affects every other part of the body. Your body and mind are not viewed separately, but as part of a complete energetic system. Acupuncture treats not only your local or immediate problem or symptom, but also works to correct the cause. In this way, Acupuncture treatment can improve or eliminate your chief complaint, and prevent the recurrence of your problem and others in the future. As your acupuncturist, I am trained to determine where the blockages and imbalances in your system are. There are 12 regular and 8 extra meridians in the meridian system, which are the channels or pathways in which the Qi (energy) circulates to every part of your body. During your examination and evaluation, I will look at your tongue, check your pulses and palpate diagnostic and meridian points. An individualized treatment plan is then designed to help you feel better and optimize your health. You will find that treatment in my office is comfortable and very relaxing. Many people who I am now treating on a maintenance schedule, experience a better level of health. They have significantly reduced or eliminated their symptoms and drugs as well. Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine has improved their energy and focus so they can accomplish their personal and professional goals.
