Acupuncturist, Cindy E. Levitz, MS, L.Ac. New York CityI have been a healthcare practitioner for over 30 years, and an acupuncturist in private practice in New York City since 1996. My purpose is to help as many people as I can achieve a better level of health with Acupuncture and Oriental medicine.

Treatment in my office is very comfortable, relaxing and tailored to your individual needs. The diversity and broad knowledge that I have gained, enables me to treat you in a very individualized way to maximize your healing potential.

My educational background is a combination of art and science, which enables me to approach my patients in both an intuitive and scientific way. I received my BFA from Hunter College, a Master’s in Science in Acupuncture and a post-graduate degree in Chinese Herbal Medicine from Tri-State College of Acupuncture in NYC. I have successfully treated countless individuals with a wide variety of health problems.

I have been a Diplomate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine since I began practicing. I have successfully met additional educational and practice requirements to be accepted as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as well.

I have studied with master practitioners from all over the world and incorporate many different styles of Acupuncture in my practice. I studied extensively with Dr. Mark Seem who developed a style of Acupuncture Physical Medicine which focuses on a specialized technique of muscular trigger point release. I use this style because it releases the tension in the muscles. I find it to be very effective treatment for all types of pain includng back pain, shoulder pain and neck pain. Other great people I've studied with include Dr. Richard Tan, the Japanese master acupuncturist Kiiko Matsumoto and master herbalist Bob Flaws.

In 2000, I traveled to China as part of a national delegation of acupuncturists for the “People to People Exchange Program”, started by President Eisenhower. During this fascinating trip, I had the unique opportunity to study and exchange information and ideas with high-level Chinese doctors and acupuncturists in several prestigious hospitals in Beijing, Shanghai and Guilin.

I would like to help you achieve a better level of health and well being. Please, explore the rest of my website to find out more about some of my treatment specialties.
